FAQ about this model
What is the Abaco ACS83 Slab Saver used for?
It supports countertop slabs and thin panels during transport and handling to reduce breakage. Abaco lists its primary function as transportation and handling protection, not lifting. Two aluminum rails carry eight rubber suction cups that attach to the slab face and hold the panel rigid while it is moved between the shop, the truck and the install site.
How long are the rails, and what size slabs does it suit?
Each rail is approximately 83 cm (32.7 inches) long, and two rails are included. The supported span depends on where you position those rails along the slab. The specifications do not list a maximum slab length, width or thickness, so measure the countertop pieces you handle most often against the rail length before ordering.
How many suction cups are there, and can they be repositioned?
There are eight suction cups mounted across the two rails. The design is modular with adjustable cup placement, so you can space the cups around sink cutouts, cooktop openings and different slab lengths. The cups use firm, non-marring rubber, which is intended to grip polished and finished faces without leaving marks on the surface.
Which materials can it be used on?
Abaco lists compatibility with porcelain, stone and engineered slabs. The stated application is countertop slabs and thin panels, which are the pieces most likely to flex and crack in transit. Materials outside that list are not covered by the published specifications, so confirm suitability before using the ACS83 on anything else.
Does it need power, batteries or an air supply?
No power source is listed in the specifications. The system is built from aluminum framing and industrial rubber suction cups, with no pump, battery or compressed-air requirement stated. The cups are applied by hand to the slab face. That makes it usable on a job site, in a shop or in a truck where no power is available.
What load can the ACS83 carry?
Abaco does not publish a load rating in these specifications, so no figure can be quoted here. The product is described as transportation and handling protection for countertop slabs and thin panels rather than a rated lifting device. Check the manufacturer's documentation for working load limits before relying on it to carry a slab's full weight.
