FAQ about this model
How much material does the HD200 hold, and what is its weight limit?
It holds 2 cubic yards by volume and 6,000 lbs by load capacity, and you reach whichever limit comes first. With dense material such as sand, gravel or concrete debris you will hit the 6,000 lb weight limit before the hopper is visually full. The hopper weighs 859 lbs empty, so add that to your load when checking your forklift's rated capacity at load center.
What are the dimensions, and how much floor space does it need?
Overall it measures 75 3/4" long, 50 1/4" wide and 46 1/4" high. The body is tapered: the base is 60" long by 42 1/2" wide, while the top opening is 73" long by 51 1/2" wide. Plan your parked footprint around the 60" x 42 1/2" base, but allow for the wider top when placing it against walls or between racks.
Will it fit my forklift?
Check two things: your truck's rated capacity and your fork dimensions. The hopper is rated for a 6,000 lb load and weighs 859 lbs itself, so your forklift must handle the combined figure at the required load center. Fork clearance is listed at 2 3/4", so measure the thickness of your forks against that number before ordering.
Does it need electrical or hydraulic hookups?
No. The specification sheet lists no motor, hydraulic circuit or electrical components, so there is nothing to plug in or connect to your truck's auxiliary functions. It is handled entirely by the forklift that carries it. For details of the dump mechanism and its operation on this specific unit, ask us before you order.
What is it made of?
The hopper is built from 7GA and 1/4" steel and is 100% MIG welded, and it is made in the USA. The heavier 1/4" plate and full welded seams are what support the 6,000 lb rating in repeated loading. At 859 lbs empty, it is substantially heavier than light-gauge hoppers, which is worth factoring into your forklift capacity math.
Who is this hopper not suitable for?
It is not the right unit if your loads exceed 6,000 lbs or 2 cubic yards, or if your forklift cannot lift 6,000 lbs plus the hopper's 859 lb empty weight at your load center. Sites needing a smaller footprint than 75 3/4" x 50 1/4" should look at a lower-capacity model instead.
