What load can this hoist lift?

Add up the weight of the load plus any slings, spreader bars, or below-hook attachments; if the total sits close to 4,000 lbs, choose a higher-capacity model instead.

Does it need electricity or compressed air?

No. It is a manual hand chain hoist, so there is no electrical or pneumatic supply to arrange. The operator raises and lowers the load by pulling the hand chain, which drives precision-machined, hardened steel gears. That makes it practical for outdoor work, remote job sites, maintenance bays, and anywhere running a power drop would be impractical.

How does it hold the load in position?

With a double pawl Weston-style load brake. The brake engages as the load is applied and holds it at the height where the operator stops pulling, so the hand chain does not have to be held or tied off. Both hooks are heat-treated, drop-forged alloy steel and carry heavy-duty safety latches to keep slings from unseating.

What difference does the galvanized load chain make?

The galvanized coating adds corrosion resistance to the Grade 80 alloy steel load chain. That suits it to damp, outdoor, or wash-down environments where a plain or black-finish chain would surface-rust between uses. The alloy steel carries the load and the coating protects it. The housing is steel with a powder-coat finish for the same reason.

Warranty

All Bison products are covered by a 12-month warranty from the date of shipment against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Bison will repair or replace defective parts at no charge (installation excluded). A return merchandise authorization (RMA) is required before returning any product; items must be shipped freight-prepaid with a written description of the issue. Items returned outside the warranty scope are subject to a 25% restocking fee. Returns are not accepted after 30 days from the date of shipment. Customized items are non-returnable.

How long will it take for my order to ship? When will I receive it?
Most orders are processed within 1-2 business days, starting the business day following the date the order was placed. Once dispatched, standard shipping typically takes an additional 1-5 business days (starting the business day after shipment).
