FAQ about this model
How much material does the HD75 hold, and how much weight can it carry?
It holds 3/4 cubic yard and is rated for a 5,000 lbs load capacity. The volume and weight limits are separate, so dense material such as wet aggregate or scrap will hit the 5,000 lbs rating before the hopper looks full. Lighter, bulkier waste will fill the 3/4 cubic yard volume first. Check your material against both figures.
What are the dimensions, and will it fit my aisle and door openings?
Overall it is 60 1/4" long, 38 3/8" wide, and 35" high. The body tapers, so the top measures 56 1/4" by 39 1/2" and the base 54" by 30 3/4". For clearance planning, work from the largest listed figures: 60 1/4" of length, 39 1/2" across the top, and 35" of height.
Does this hopper require power, and how is it handled?
No electrical, hydraulic, or air supply is listed in the specifications. It is handled by forklift, and the specs give a fork clearance of 2 3/4". Compare that clearance to your fork thickness, and confirm the truck's rated capacity covers the 561 lbs empty weight plus your load, as OSHA's powered industrial truck rules require.
What is the hopper built from?
It is built from 7GA and 1/4" steel and is 100% MIG welded, made in the USA. The heavier 1/4" material and fully welded seams are what support the 5,000 lbs rating at a 561 lbs empty weight. The specifications do not list a coating, liner, or optional finish for this SKU.
How heavy is the unit itself, and why does that matter?
The hopper weighs 561 lbs empty. That figure matters because your forklift has to carry the hopper and the load together, and because the load center shifts as the hopper extends 60 1/4" out from the forks. Confirm both against your truck's capacity plate before putting a full 5,000 lbs in it.
Who is this size suited to, and who should look at a different unit?
It suits operations moving up to 3/4 cubic yard or 5,000 lbs per trip, such as shop scrap, trimmings, or general plant waste. If your typical batch exceeds either limit, you will be making extra trips and should look at a larger volume model. If your forklift is rated below the combined hopper and load weight, this unit is not a fit.
