FAQ about this model
How much weight can this hoist lift?
It is rated for 3 tons, or 6,000 lbs. That figure is the maximum working load for the hoist itself, so the trolley, beam or support structure you hang it from must be rated for at least the same load. If your heaviest lift is close to 6,000 lbs, count the slings, shackles and any below-the-hook device in your total.
What power supply does it need?
Three phase power at 460V or 230V, and it ships factory-wired at 460V. If your building runs 230V three phase, the hoist must be reconfigured for that voltage by a qualified electrician before it is put into service. It is not a single phase unit, so confirm you have three phase service available at the installation point.
What does dual speed mean in practice?
You get two lift and lower speeds from the same control instead of one. The faster speed covers distance when you are running the hook up or down empty or moving a load clear, and the slower speed gives you finer control for landing a load on a fixture, aligning parts, or setting something into a tight space.
What safety features are included?
Friction clutch overload protection, mechanical paddle limit switches and an emergency stop button. The friction clutch slips rather than lifting a load beyond what the hoist is built for, the paddle limit switches stop hook travel at the ends of its range, and the emergency stop is there for immediate shutdown. Load holding is handled by a pull-rotor motor brake.
What operating conditions is it rated for?
Temperatures from -4° to +104° F and humidity up to 85%. That covers most indoor shops and many unheated or partly open buildings, but not freezer work or a space that runs hotter than 104° F. The body is die-cast aluminum. The product data does not cover outdoor exposure or washdown environments, so treat those applications as unconfirmed.
What warranty comes with this hoist?
Bison Lifting covers it for 12 months. The product data states the warranty period only; it does not detail what is covered, what is excluded, or how a claim is handled. If those terms matter to your purchasing decision, ask for the written warranty document before you order rather than relying on the listed duration alone.
