FAQ about this model
How much can this hoist lift, and how do I know it fits my load?
It handles up to 1/2 ton, which is 1000 lbs (454 kg). That is the rated working limit, not a peak figure, so the total weight on the hook — the load plus slings, spreader bars, or any below-hook attachment — has to stay under it. If your usual picks sit close to that number, move up a capacity rather than running at the limit.
What power supply does it require?
It runs on 230/460V, 3-phase, 60Hz power, so a standard single-phase shop circuit will not work. The control voltage is 24V, keeping low voltage at the operator's hand on the pendant. Confirm which of the two supply voltages your building provides, and that a suitably rated disconnect and branch circuit are available at the mounting point, before installation.
What is the lift height and how fast does it lift?
Standard lift is 20 ft (6.1 m) at a lifting speed of 16 FPM (4.9 m/min). The 20 ft figure is chain travel, not headroom, so measure from your mounting point down to the hook's lowest required working position. At 16 FPM the hoist moves at a steady, controlled rate rather than a high-speed one, which suits precise placement.
How does it hold the load, and what is the chain made of?
Two braking systems work together: a mechanical brake and a regenerative electromagnetic brake. The load chain is Grade 80 heat-treated alloy steel with a black oxide finish. The motor is a fan-cooled TEFC unit with Class F insulation, which handles the heat of repeated duty cycles, and the housing is high-strength cast aluminum alloy.
What maintenance and inspection does it need?
Upkeep centers on the load chain, hook, and brakes. Inspect the chain regularly for wear, stretch, gouging, and damage to the black oxide finish, and keep it lubricated. ASME, which publishes the B30.16 standard covering overhead hoists, calls for both frequent and periodic inspections depending on service severity. Since the TEFC motor is enclosed, keep the fan path and housing clear of dust buildup.
Who is this hoist right for, and who should look elsewhere?
It fits shops with three-phase power that need a permanently mounted hoist for loads at or below 1000 lbs — fabrication bays, machine shops, maintenance departments. It is not the right choice for single-phase-only sites, for portable or frequently relocated use, or for loads above the rating. The hoist carries a 12-month warranty and orders under SKU BXH-050.
