FAQ about this model
How much can this hoist lift?
Rated capacity is 1/4 Ton, or 500 lbs. A friction clutch provides overload protection, so an excessive load slips the clutch instead of being raised. When sizing, count the full suspended weight: the load itself plus slings, spreader bars or any below-hook attachment. If your typical picks approach or exceed 500 lbs, choose a higher-capacity model rather than this one.
What power supply does it need?
It runs on single phase power and is dual voltage, accepting either 115v or 230v. That means it can be fed from common single phase circuits instead of requiring three phase service, which suits smaller shops, service bays and light production areas. The specifications do not list amperage draw, so have a qualified electrician confirm the circuit and connection before installation.
How high and how fast does it lift?
Standard lift height is 84 ft and standard lift speed is 5 FPM. That is a deliberate, controlled speed suited to accurate positioning rather than fast cycle times, and a full-height lift takes several minutes. Measure your available headroom and the distance from the hook to the floor to confirm the 84 ft standard lift matches your building.
How does it mount?
This is a top hook model, so it hangs from a suitable overhead anchor point such as a beam trolley or a rated fixed support. Nothing is bolted to a permanent frame, which makes it straightforward to move between anchor points. The support structure and any trolley must be rated for the load and are not covered by these specifications.
What operating conditions is it rated for?
It is rated for -4° to +104° F and relative humidity of 85% or less. That covers most indoor shops, unheated warehouses and sheltered outdoor work in cold climates. It is not intended for high-heat process areas, wash-down environments or continuously damp spaces above that humidity limit, where the temperature and moisture ratings would be exceeded.
What are the main components, and is there a warranty?
It uses a Grade 80 FEC Japanese load chain, an electromagnetic AC brake and a friction clutch for overload protection. The brake holds the load when the control is released, and the clutch limits what the hoist will raise. Routine care centres on inspecting and lubricating the load chain. The hoist carries a 12 month warranty.
