FAQ about this model
How much weight can this hoist lift?
It is rated for 1/2 ton, which is 1,000 lbs. That rating is the maximum working load, so add up the weight of the load plus any rigging, slings, or below-hook attachments and keep the total under 1,000 lbs. If your loads routinely approach or exceed that figure, choose a higher-capacity model instead of running this one at its limit.
What electrical supply does it need?
It requires a three phase supply and is dual voltage, wired for either 230v or 460v. Single phase shop power will not run it, so confirm you have three phase service at the installation point before ordering. Because it accepts both 230v and 460v, the same unit suits most industrial buildings, but the voltage must be set to match your incoming supply.
What protects the hoist and load if something goes wrong?
Three systems: an integrated friction clutch for overload protection, mechanical paddle limit switches at the upper and lower travel points, and a pull-rotor motor brake that holds the load when the motor stops. The pendant also includes an emergency stop. Together these guard against lifting beyond capacity, over-travel at either end of the chain, and uncontrolled lowering.
Where can this hoist be installed?
It is rated for an operating temperature range of -4° to +104° F and a recommended humidity of 85% or less. That covers most indoor production areas, warehouses, and unheated shops in cold climates. Very humid environments, wash-down areas, or applications outside that temperature band call for a hoist specified for those conditions rather than this one.
How is it operated?
Operation is by an ergonomic pendant control with an emergency stop, hanging from the hoist within reach of the operator. This is a 1 speed unit, so the hoist raises and lowers at a single fixed rate with no slow-speed setting. If your work requires fine positioning or a creep speed for precise load placement, a two speed hoist is the better fit.
What is included with the hoist and what warranty does it carry?
The hoist ships with the pendant control and carries a 12 month warranty. The body is die-cast aluminum, which keeps the unit lighter than a comparable steel-bodied hoist while housing the motor, brake, and clutch. Mounting hardware, trolleys, and the supporting beam or structure are separate items and are not part of the hoist itself.
