FAQ about this model
How much can this hoist lift, and what happens if I overload it?
It is rated for 1/2 ton, or 1000 lbs. That rating covers the hoist and trolley together, so count your rigging — slings, hooks, spreader bars — as part of the total load, not just the part being lifted. A friction clutch mechanism provides overload protection, but treat that as a safeguard, not a way to work above the rating. Heavier loads need a larger unit.
What power supply does the HH-B05+T need?
It runs on single-phase power at either 115v or 230v, and the voltage is field-adjustable. One unit therefore covers both common shop supplies — you set it at installation to match the circuit you have, rather than ordering a different model. Confirm your circuit and disconnect are sized for the voltage you select, and have the connection made by a qualified electrician.
How much headroom does it take up under the beam?
Combined headroom is 26.74 inches for the hoist and trolley as a unit. Measure from the underside of your beam down: those 26.74 inches are used before the hook even begins, and they directly reduce how high you can lift under a fixed ceiling. If your beam-to-floor clearance is tight, check this figure against the tallest load you plan to handle.
What operating conditions is it rated for?
It is rated from -4° F to +104° F, with recommended humidity of 85% or less, non-condensing. That covers most indoor shops and many unheated warehouses, but not freezer rooms or hot process areas outside the band. For damp, outdoor, or wash-down locations, verify that temperatures stay in range and that condensation does not form on the unit.
How does it hold and stop the load?
Load holding is handled by an electromagnetic AC brake, which sets when motor power is cut, so the load stays in position when you release the control. Mechanical paddle-type limit switches stop the hoist at the ends of its lift travel. Both are safety devices: check them during regular inspections, and do not use the limit switches as a routine stopping method.
Who is this hoist and trolley suited to, and what is the warranty?
It suits shops that need a 1000 lb lifting point on an existing beam with single-phase power, and it carries a 12-month warranty. The combined unit weighs 254 lbs, which matters at installation — your beam and whatever hoists it into place must handle that weight. It is not the right choice for three-phase-only facilities or loads above 1000 lbs.
