How much can this mixer handle in one batch?

The drum capacity is 12 cu. ft. and the rated batch output is 9.5 cu. ft. The difference is normal: a drum is never filled to the rim, since material needs room to tumble and blend. Plan your pours around the 9.5 cu. ft. figure — anything larger has to be run as multiple batches.

What powers it, and do I need electricity on site?

It runs on a 5.5 HP Honda GX gas engine, so no electrical hookup, extension cord or generator is required. That makes it workable on sites before power is available or well away from an outlet. You will need to keep fuel on hand and follow Honda's own fueling and service instructions for the engine.

Can I tow it between job sites?

Yes — it ships with a heavy-duty commercial tow hitch and rolls on 20 in. pneumatic wheels. The unit weighs 650 lbs., so check that figure against your vehicle's towing capacity and hitch rating before hooking up. The specifications do not state a highway or road rating, so confirm your state's requirements for towing on public roads.

What is the drum made of and how big is the opening?

The drum is heavy-duty steel with a 32.5 in. diameter. Steel stands up to the abrasion of sand, aggregate and mortar better than plastic drums, and a 32.5 in. diameter gives room to dump bagged material in and to reach inside for cleaning. Rinse the drum before material sets — cured buildup cuts usable volume and adds weight.

Who is this mixer right for, and who should look elsewhere?

It fits contractors running repeat batches of mortar, stucco or concrete who need to move the mixer between sites under their own truck. At 650 lbs. with a 9.5 cu. ft. batch output, it is more machine than an occasional small repair job needs. For continuous high-volume placement, ready-mix delivery is usually the better route.
