The IMER HSM 8 – 1130081 horizontal shaft mortar mixer is built as a rugged, mobile mixing solution designed specifically for professionals using mortars, stuccos, grouts and other cement-based products. The unit has a large 8 cu ft. heavy-duty steel drum that allows for large volume batching of the product in addition to having the ability to hold approximately 2.5–3 bags of material at a time, to allow for the most consistent blends when working with large volumes of product. A key component of the mixer’s efficiency is its gearbox design which allows for maximum energy to be transferred from the drive system to the mixing paddles, while minimizing noise levels. The unit is also designed for transportation; it has a hitch to attach to a vehicle and has 5.3″ x 12″ tires to provide ruggedness in towing and a set of forklift pockets for flexibility in placing the unit on-site. Additionally, the mixer can operate by either a Honda GX-240 gas engine or an optional electric motor depending upon the customer’s need for power.

About 2.5 to 3 bags per batch, in an 8 cu ft steel drum. That size suits crews running continuous masonry, stucco, or plaster work, where one batch keeps several masons supplied. If you normally mix a single bag at a time for patch and repair work, a smaller drum will be quicker to charge and clean between batches.

What are the power options on this mixer?

It is listed with a Honda GX-240 gas engine rated 7.9 HP, with a Leeson 1.5 HP, 120V electric motor available as an option. Gas is the choice for open sites with no power available.
