What power options does the IM 87 come with?

It comes with both a 23 kW diesel engine and a 15 kW AC electric motor. The dual setup means you can run diesel outdoors and switch to electric where exhaust or noise is a problem, such as indoor or enclosed work. Electric operation draws on the onboard 48V 630Ah battery pack.

How long does the platform take to raise and lower?

The listed lift/lower time is 70 seconds. The specification gives a single figure for the movement rather than separate raise and lower times. Cycle time matters most if your crew repositions frequently through the shift; work that stays at one height for long stretches is less affected by it.

Can it work on rough ground and slopes?

Yes — it uses a 4WD hydrostatic drive and is rated for grades up to 40%. Travel speed on diesel is up to 6 km/h. Four-wheel drive suits compacted dirt, gravel and active construction ground rather than finished slabs only. Check your actual site slope and surface before planning work near the steepest rated grade.

Can the machine be driven while the platform is elevated?

Yes, maximum drive height is listed as full, so the machine is rated to travel at full elevation. That saves repeated lowering and re-setting when working along a long wall, ceiling run or facade. OSHA requires that only trained, authorized operators use aerial work platforms, and driving at height should follow the operator manual.

What is the electric battery, and how long will it run?

The battery is a 48V 630Ah pack supplying the 15 kW AC electric motor. Runtime is not given in the specifications, because it depends on duty cycle, how much driving versus lifting you do, terrain and ambient temperature. If shift length on battery alone is critical to your job, plan around the diesel engine as the backup power source.
