The model number follows the pattern HDROP-[capacity]-[duty], so HDROP-100-MD is the medium duty 1 cubic yard hopper and HDROP-50-LD is the light duty .5 cubic yard.
What is the difference between light, medium and heavy duty?
Duty level reflects how much load and wear the hopper is built to handle, with heavy duty the most robust and light duty the least. Every capacity is available in all three. Our published specifications do not break out steel thickness or load rating by duty level, so match the duty level to the weight and abrasiveness of the material you are handling before ordering.

What does the fold down front add?
The fold down front is a hinged front panel that lowers out of the way. With it down, material can be pushed, swept or slid in over a lower edge instead of being lifted over the full sidewall height, which matters for sweepings, offcuts and anything loaded by hand. It also gives a clearer opening when the hopper is dumped.
Who makes these and is there a warranty?
They are made in the USA by Vestil Manufacturing and carry a 1-Year Limited warranty. Vestil is the manufacturer of record for the HDROP series, and warranty terms are set by Vestil rather than by the dealer. Which size should I choose for my operation?
