Electric pallet trucks take the push-and-pull work out of moving palletized loads: the battery drives the wheels and raises the forks, so one operator can run pallets across a dock or down an aisle without fighting a hand pump. This collection lists 40 active models from EKKO, Ballymore, EOSLift, GNT and Ravas, priced from $418 to $14,533 — walkie electric pallet jacks, center-controlled riders, scissor lift pallet trucks, narrow-body and long-tiller variants, plus manual jacks for backup duty. Compare capacity, fork length and lowered fork height against the pallets you actually handle before you filter on price.

An electric pallet truck is a low-lift truck: it raises a pallet just far enough to clear the floor, then moves it under battery power. The same machine is sold as an electric pallet jack, a powered pallet truck, a motorized pallet truck (motorised pallet truck in UK-influenced catalogs), an electric pallet mover or an electric pallet lift. Those are naming conventions, not different equipment. What genuinely differs between models is how much of the job the battery does. A full-powered unit drives and lifts electrically — the EKKO EP20LI is listed with electric lift and electric drive at 4,400 lb — while semi-electric machines power one function and leave the other on a manual hydraulic pump. Our listings state which, and it is the first spec worth checking.
The right style follows travel distance and how often the operator gets on and off. Short shuttles between a dock door and a staging lane favor a walkie. Long hauls across a building favor a rider, because walking beside the truck becomes the bottleneck. Assembly and order-picking work often favors a scissor lift pallet truck, which raises the load to a working height so staff stop bending into the bottom of a pallet.
| Style | Example in this collection | Rated capacity | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Walkie electric pallet jack | EKKO EP20JLI | 4,400 lb | Dock work, short in-building moves |
| Center-controlled rider | EKKO EPC30A | 5,000 lb | Frequent, longer runs with the operator aboard |
| Rider pallet jack | GNT G66P-Li | 6,600 lb | Heavy, high-repetition transport |
| Scissor lift pallet truck | Eoslift I10E | 2,200 lb | Pick and pack, assembly at working height |
| Manual hand jack | EKKO A25 | 5,500 lb | Backup, trailer work, low-frequency moves |
Two variants worth knowing: narrow-body trucks such as the EKKO EP18JNLI (4,000 lb) for tight aisles and container work, and long-tiller models such as the Ballymore BALLYPAL40L (4,000 lb, 45 x 6.3 in. forks), which keep the operator farther from the load. The Eoslift I10E shows what a scissor truck buys you — it lifts from a 3.3 in. lowered fork height to a 31.5 in. maximum fork height on the same chassis that moves the pallet.
Capacities across this collection run from 2,200 lb on the Eoslift I10E up to 6,600 lb on the GNT G66P-Li rider, with most walkie models rated 3,300, 4,000, 4,400 or 4,500 lb. Buy to your heaviest routine pallet, not your average one — a truck run at its ceiling every day wears faster than one with headroom.
Rated capacity is always tied to a load center, the distance from the fork face to the load's center of gravity. The EKKO EP20LI is rated 4,400 lb at a 24 in. load center; the EP20JLI is listed at 23.6 in. Loads that sit high, hang past the fork tips or are packed unevenly effectively derate the truck, and that is a common source of trouble on used equipment that seemed adequate on paper.
Fork geometry decides whether the truck fits your pallets at all. Many models here ship with 48 in. forks; Ballymore's BALLYPAL-N series is offered in both 48 x 21 in. and 48 x 27 in. fork configurations, and the EP20LI lists an outside fork distance of 27 in. with an overall width of 27.5 in. Lowered fork height matters just as much for closed-bottom, plastic or damaged pallets — the EP20LI enters at 3.3 in., the manual EKKO A25S at 2.95 in.
Most powered models in this collection use lithium — several EKKO units are lithium iron phosphate, the GNT GP-CLi series is listed with a removable 48V lithium pack, and Ballymore offers both 24V (BALLYPAL33N) and 48V (BALLYPAL45N) trucks. Voltage tracks the work: higher voltage generally means more available power for heavier, longer-duty applications. Lithium chemistries tolerate opportunity charging — plugging in during breaks rather than running a pack flat — and need no watering or equalizing, which removes a recurring maintenance task and the battery room around it. Ask for the amp-hour rating and the charger's input requirements on any model you shortlist; run time is a function of pack size, gradient, load and how many lifts per hour you actually do, not a single headline number. If you charge on-site, note that OSHA 1910.178(g) sets requirements for battery charging installations, including ventilation, facilities for flushing spilled electrolyte and a smoking prohibition in the area.
Powered pallet trucks are powered industrial trucks, so OSHA 1910.178 applies to them the same way it applies to a sit-down forklift. Under OSHA 1910.178(l), employers must train and evaluate operators before they work unsupervised and re-evaluate performance at least once every three years; OSHA 1910.178(q)(7) requires that trucks be examined before being placed in service and at least daily where used around the clock. On the equipment side, ANSI/ITSDF B56.1, the safety standard for low lift and high lift trucks, is the design and operation standard manufacturers build to. Manual hand pallet jacks are not powered industrial trucks, so the 1910.178 operator-training requirement does not reach them — training is still sensible, since most hand-jack injuries come from pulling loads on grades and pinched feet.
Check the floor before the spec sheet. Polyurethane wheels, standard on models such as the EP20JLI, are made for smooth concrete; broken slabs, expansion joints, gravel yards and steep dock ramps all punish a low-lift truck. Confirm dock plate ratings against truck weight plus load — the Eoslift I10E alone has a 353 lb net weight before anything goes on the forks. Wash-down, food and pharma environments push you toward corrosion-resistant frames, which is what the stainless EKKO A25S and galvanized A25G exist for.
On cost, the purchase price is the smallest decision you will make. Budget for the charger and its circuit, eventual battery replacement, wheel and load-roller wear, and freight — these trucks ship on pallets and usually need a liftgate or forklift at delivery. Where uptime matters, keeping one manual jack alongside a powered fleet is cheap insurance against a truck being down.
