What capacities are available, and how do I pick the right one?
Capacities run from 2,000 lb to 8,000 lb, across 17 listed models. The capacity is fixed by the model you choose — FHSN-2 models sit at the bottom of the range and FHSN-8 models at the top. Choose a model rated at or above your heaviest load, counting the hoist, rigging and any lifting attachment as part of that weight.
What beam lengths can I get?
Beam lengths are 118, 177 or 236 inches, identified in each model number. FHSN-2-10-VG is the 118 inch version, FHSN-2-15-VG is 177 inches and FHSN-2-20-VG is 236 inches, and the same three lengths are offered at every capacity. Measure your working area and the span you need to cover before selecting a model.
What does "knockdown" mean for delivery and setup?
Knockdown means the crane ships disassembled and is bolted together on site. It arrives in sections, so it can be carried into position piece by piece rather than moved as one welded frame. Assembly is a bolt-together job with no welding or cutting required. Follow the Vestil instructions supplied with the crane and confirm all fasteners are tight before the first lift.
Can the height be adjusted, and can the crane be made stationary?
No — these are fixed height cranes, so the beam sits at one set height and cannot be raised or lowered. If you want the crane to stay in one place instead of rolling, Vestil offers a stationary leg option: FHS-STLO installed at the factory for $220.14, or FHS-STLO-RF for field installation at $294.25.
Do the V-groove casters need track?
Yes — V-groove casters are shaped to ride on track, not on an open floor. Vestil sells the matching section, V-TRACK, in a 120 inch length at $205.90, so order enough sections to cover your travel path. Track keeps the crane running along a fixed line, which suits repeated moves between the same two points.
Is the crane pushed by hand or powered?
It is pushed by hand unless you add a power traction drive, which is sold separately. Two drive options are listed: GPTD-2 at $8,737.39 for the lower capacity cranes and GPTD-4 at $10,105.98 for the higher capacity ones. Manual pushing suits occasional moves over short distances, while a powered drive suits heavier loads or frequent travel.
