How much can the CW-FAR Series lift?

Every model in the CW-FAR series is rated at 1/4 ton capacity. That rating is the same for CW508-FAR, CW510-FAR, CW512-FAR, CW514-FAR and CW516-FAR, so moving up the series buys you height, not capacity. The lifting device you hang from the boom must be rated for your load as well, so match the hoist to the loads you actually handle.

What is the span, and does it change between models?

The span is 4 ft on all five models. Only the HUB height changes as you move up the series; the reach from the wall stays the same from CW508-FAR through CW516-FAR. If your work area needs coverage further than 4 ft out from the mounting point, this series will not reach it and a longer-span jib is the better choice.

How do I choose between the five models?

Choose by HUB height, since that is the only dimension that varies. CW508-FAR is 8 ft, CW510-FAR is 10 ft, CW512-FAR is 12 ft, CW514-FAR is 14 ft and CW516-FAR is 16 ft. Pick the height that clears your tallest load and any obstructions in the lift path while still fitting under your building's structure.

How much does the crane weigh, and why does that matter for the wall?

Weights run from 527 lbs to 737 lbs depending on model: 527 lbs for CW508-FAR, 563 lbs for CW510-FAR, 607 lbs for CW512-FAR, 689 lbs for CW514-FAR and 737 lbs for CW516-FAR. Because the unit is wall mounted, the supporting wall or column carries that dead weight plus the lifted load and the forces the boom transfers into it. Have a structural engineer confirm your mounting point.

Who is this crane a good fit for, and who should look elsewhere?

It suits work cells that lift repeatedly close to a wall or building column, within 1/4 ton and within a 4 ft span. The articulating boom can swing around obstructions and reach into spaces a straight boom cannot, which helps at machine loading and assembly stations. Buyers with heavier loads, wider coverage needs, or no suitable structure to mount to should look at floor-mounted or longer-span cranes.
