What lifting capacities are available?
Five capacities are offered: 100, 200, 600, 1200 and 2200 lb. They correspond to models ML-C-2 (100 lb), ML-2 (200 lb), ML-6 (600 lb), ML-12 (1200 lb) and ML-22 (2200 lb). Rated capacity is the maximum load for that model, so select based on the heaviest single piece you intend to lift rather than an average.
How do I choose the right model for my load?
Choose the model whose rated capacity exceeds the weight of your heaviest load, and confirm the load is ferrous. Rated capacity is a maximum figure; a magnet's actual holding force is reduced on thin, curved, rough, painted or scaled surfaces. ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) B30.20 covers below-the-hook lifting devices of this kind.
What is the difference between the ML-C-2 and the other models?
The ML-C-2 is the cylindrical model, rated at 100 lb and priced at $284.11, making it the smallest and least expensive in the range. The other four — ML-2, ML-6, ML-12 and ML-22 — are rated at 200, 600, 1200 and 2200 lb. Our product data does not describe body shape for those four.

They are made in the USA by Vestil Manufacturing and carry a 1-Year Limited warranty. This applies across all five ML models. Who are these suited for, and who should look elsewhere?
They suit shops moving ferrous steel — plate, sheet, blocks and dies — within the rated capacity of the model selected. They are not appropriate for non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, copper, brass or non-magnetic stainless, which a magnet will not hold. Loads above 2200 lb exceed the largest model offered, the ML-22.
