What Ballymore Makes, and What Vovlift Stocks

Ballymore's catalog centers on moving people and loads to height inside buildings — warehouses, plants, MRO shops, retail stockrooms and maintenance departments. Vovlift stocks more than 250 active Ballymore models, and they fall into five practical groupings: elevated access lifts (drivable scissor lifts, mini scissor lifts, vertical mast lifts and MRO lifts), mobile lift tables, safety ladders and work platforms, pallet handling equipment, and portable dock equipment. By SKU count the two largest families are lift tables and safety ladders, followed by work platforms, material lifts and platform scissor lifts. Pricing across the stocked line runs from $3,119 to $64,526, which spans simple manual equipment at one end and full-size drivable access lifts at the other.

Elevated Access: Mini Scissors, Full-Size Scissors and Vertical Masts

This is the part of the range buyers usually arrive for. Ballymore splits it three ways. The DMSL mini scissor series is built narrow, for aisles, doorways and finished floors. The DSL series is the full-size drivable scissor line, with extendable cantilever decks that let you reach over racking, conveyors or fixtures without repositioning the machine. The DVML vertical mast lifts take the opposite approach: a small platform on a compact base, for one person and tools in a confined footprint.

Note the trade in the DSL column: as platform height climbs, rated capacity comes down. If you need both height and a heavy platform load, the DSL-32 is usually the better answer than the DSL-40 or DSL-45.

On the mast side, the DVML-16AE is fully electric with a 15 ft 5 in platform height and 500 lb capacity; the DVML-18 pairs a 24 in x 25 in platform with a 26 ft working height; and the DVML-30RJ adds a jib for 9 ft 3 in of horizontal extension at a 36 ft 9 in maximum working height, on a fully sealed AC system with maintenance-free batteries, and it drives at full height. The PS-15DRV and PS-15DRVS Power Stockers are the stockroom-oriented mast lifts, the DRVS adding a safety sensor. For maintenance work at height there are the MR-28 — a two-person battery-powered hydraulic lift with a 28 in x 36 in platform and 34 ft working height — and the DC-powered MR-28-DC. A fully powered drivable merchandise lift rounds out the group at 300 lb load capacity and 62 in closed height. Self-propelled aerial platforms of this type are covered by the A92 standards published by the American National Standards Institute, and OSHA sets the operator training and inspection obligations.

Lift Tables, Safety Ladders and Work Platforms

Lift tables are the single largest Ballymore family we carry. The MAX Mobile Lift Table line uses hand control and comes in 2K and 3K capacity ratings across deck sizes from 26x64 up to 48x84 inches, including 26x72, 26x84, 36x48, 36x60, 36x64, 36x72, 48x64 and 48x72. Size the deck to the load footprint first, then choose the capacity rating with room to spare over your heaviest routine load.

Safety ladders are close behind on count, with work platforms and material lifts as the related non-powered families. These are the rolling and stationary steel ladder stands and elevated platforms used for stock picking, machine access and maintenance. OSHA addresses mobile ladder stands and mobile ladder stand platforms in its walking-working surfaces rules, and the American National Standards Institute publishes A14.7 for this equipment — worth checking against your own site's requirements before you specify a step count or platform size.

Pallet Trucks, Stackers, Tugs and Dock Equipment

Ballymore's floor-level handling range is smaller but complete enough to outfit a shipping area: manual pallet jacks, full electric pallet trucks, semi-electric and full electric pallet stackers, the LIAM order picker, tow-on electric tugs and a speciality lifter. On the dock side, the Rough Terrain Portable Loading Dock is rated at 5K weight capacity for sites without a fixed dock. Powered pallet trucks, stackers and order pickers are powered industrial trucks under OSHA's rules, which require operator training and evaluation, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers publishes B56.1 covering this equipment class.

Ballymore's orange finish makes the access lifts easy to identify on a mixed fleet. Most of this equipment moves by freight rather than parcel; crate dimensions, weight and delivery condition vary by model, so ask us to confirm those for the specific SKU before you order, along with ceiling height, door width and floor condition at the point of use.
