A work platform is a steel elevated stand that gives workers a stable, guarded deck to stand on for tasks above standing reach — machine maintenance, assembly, inspection, and overhead access. Models range from fixed-step and rolling units to cantilever decks that reach over obstructions.
Choose a rolling platform when work moves along a line, between machines, or across a shop floor — casters let one worker reposition it quickly. Pick a fixed or cantilever platform for a dedicated station where the deck stays put and reaches over equipment or a lower obstruction.
Match step count to your working height: Ballymore rolling and fixed models span 2 to 5 steps, roughly 20" to 50" of platform elevation. Add the operator's reach to the deck height to confirm the top surface lands where the work is, then check platform depth for tool and body room.
Deck width runs 24" to 36" and depth from 24" to 48" across the range — wider, deeper decks suit two-hand tasks and staged parts. Select grip or serrated tread for general traction, or perforated tread where fluids, chips, or debris need to fall through the surface.
