A hoist trolley is the wheeled carriage that mounts your hoist to an I-beam and lets the load travel horizontally along the beam. It converts a fixed lifting point into a movable one, so you can position loads anywhere under the runway instead of only straight up and down.
Push trolleys move by hand and suit lighter loads and short, frequent moves. Geared trolleys use a hand chain for controlled positioning of heavier loads and precise spotting. Motorized trolleys drive the carriage with a motor for the heaviest loads or long, repeated travel where hand pushing is impractical.
Size the trolley to at least the rated capacity of your hoist and the heaviest load you will lift. Vovlift lists push and geared models from 1/2 ton through 10 ton and motorized models from 1/4 ton through 5 ton, so match the trolley rating to your hoist rather than under-sizing it.
Tight overhead clearance changes the choice. A low-headroom trolley keeps the hoist mount close to the beam to preserve lifting height, while ATP models suit specific beam profiles. Confirm your beam flange width and available headroom against each product's spec table before ordering.
